After you've sorted through the endless destination wedding settings for your day - why not pick a cruise. It's an excuse for your family and friends to take a real vacation. We took a cruise for our honeymoon but I can see the benefits of marrying at sea. How about a cruise of the Greek Isles or Bahamas? It's cozy and includes a 5 course reception!
Cruise lines are trying to attract those couples looking for an adventure. They provide all of the professional wedding services you expect from planners and bachelor parties to showers, receptions even rehersal dinners. Of course you'll have your choice of wedding cakes, wedding flowers and more!

There are options from marrying in the ship's chapel. Many will stream the wedding online so your friends and family at home can enjoy the ceremony. You can even get married on deck, weather permitting of course. Don't forget there are several lounges on board that will provide a unique setting for your "I do".
With many many choices, couples love to choose their wedding at sea and the cruise lines love it. They provide just what the couples are looking for.
Remember bringing so many guests can result in a free honeymoon for the bride and groom because often the cruise line will give you a free cabin with so many registered guests. This can be a welcome savings! The cost of weddings on board will varry but typcially are under $3,000 however, this does not include the cruise and reception. It is an affordable solution when budget is a consideration. It becomes a fun way to share vacation time with all of your guests.
While it's your day - don't forget the guests are enjoying the cruise, too. It is a considerate idea to give them time on their own to explore the ship and ports of call on their own! They will thank you for making their vacation awesome! |
